What you get
Your buoy and our dock
The Beachcomber Inn sits on 200 feet of private Lake Tahoe shoreline in South Lake Tahoe, next to Lakeview Commons. Our buoy field holds 12 mooring buoys, shared by hotel guests, members, and renters, so space is limited.
Renters can walk through the property to reach the private dock, and use the dock as well as their buoy.
How to rent
From application to mooring
1. Apply
Send the application below with the season or weeks you want. It only takes a few minutes, and there is nothing to attach.
2. We check availability
The front office checks which buoys are open for your dates and replies. If one is available, they will ask for:
- Proof of vessel ownership
- Proof of insurance
- A photo of the vessel
Keep them handy, but wait until we ask.
3. Finish and moor
- Sign the Beachcomber Inn agreement and waiver of liability.
- List the Beachcomber Inn as an additional insured on your boat insurance and send us a copy.
- Pay the rental fee.
- Check in with the front office before you moor your boat.

Getting your boat here
- Getting to your buoy. Renters can walk through the property to our private dock, then get to and from their buoy on their own, by skiff, kayak, paddleboard, or swimming.
- Parking. Use street parking or one of the public lots nearby. There is no parking for renters' vehicles or boat trailers on Beachcomber Inn property.
- Get your boat inspected. Every motorized boat needs a Lake Tahoe watercraft inspection sticker before it launches. See Tahoe Boat Inspections for stations, fees, and hours.
- Mind the no-wake zone. Lake Tahoe has a 5 mph limit within 600 feet of shore. See the TRPA watercraft rules.

Are the Beachcomber Inn's buoys permitted?
Yes. The buoy field is covered by the resort's lease with the California State Lands Commission, which lists the pier and its 12 mooring buoys.
